Sargent Electric Company was founded to serve the large steelmakers in and around Pittsburgh, then branched into electrical work for other manufacturers and utilities. The Company's territory broadened as well, with the Midwest Division opening in 1959. In the 1970s, Sargent Electric Company began doing commercial construction. The 1990s have seen the starting of the E&CS business unit and the Wireless Division, along with the founding of TEGG Corporation , a firm Sargent Electric Company was instrumental in launching and in which we still hold ownership. At present Sargent Electric Company is directed by two third-generation brothers. CEO Frederic B. (Fred) Sargent has over 25 years' experience in the industry and has overseen much of the Company's recent growth. President John Sargent holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Information Networking from Carnegie Mellon University to complement his extensive industry experience
